mapformation was asked to develop a set of floor diagrams for the Rome Villa in the Summer of 2000, as well as a comprehensive map of central Rome (Italy) that depicted the Bernardi Campus in relation to several prominent landmarks within the city. Finished artwork was delivered in January 2001. Given the fact that the Italian lira was very weak against the US Dollar at the time, mapformation staff bartered part of their compensation for the project in exchange for an 11-night stay in the Villa’s guest suite. It was a once-in-a-lifetime chance for our staff to visit a beautiful city in Europe while doing a little work along the way.
