Rad contacted mapformation in 2009 after coming across a local map created for a business in Bozeman, Montana, USA. Rad was instantly drawn to the breadth and nature of the 3D map work that the mapformation designers were involved with. Rad knew instantly that he wanted to become a part of the team and was driven to integrate his ski resort trail maps and other recreationally related map experience with that of mapformation. Rad became a member of the mapformation team on March 4th, 2010.
As a commercial graphic designer and illustrator Rad has over 14 years of experience in interpreting natural and cultural resources for a wide range of clients. Rad has worked closely with biological, cultural and technical scientist in providing hand-rendered and computer generated maps, information graphics, and other large publishing projects. He has conducted work for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Southern California Edison, Pacific Gas and Electric Co., the USDA Forest Service, U.S. Air Force and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Recently he has worked with a number of ski resorts, real estate firms, public and private resorts/lodges and other recreational entities in providing maps and illustrations for print and web publishing. Currently, Rad is working with the Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument and their bid as an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Rad is a member of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators and lives with his wife and two daughters in Bozeman, Montana.
